Perry vs Obama

If you are sick of nasty, brutal, in-your-face politics, brace yourself. Over the next 15 months your eyes and ears will bleed. We will witness dirty politics on a level never seen before. Team Obama will shamelessly throw everything they can at Perry in order to derail his campaign, turning Campaign 2012 into a degrading cesspool of racial accusations. Watch for blatant plants at Perry rallies holding up racially-charged signs denigrating blacks and Hispanics. Listen to left-leaning pundits screaming about tea-bagging rednecks who hate Obama because of his race. This election is going to divide the nation more radically than ever. It is coming.

If Perry was Bush, Team Obama wouldn't have to stoop to this level. Obama would demolish him after just one debate. But as I have said before, Perry is NOT Bush. Perry is a skilled orator and an outstanding campaigner, and he won't have to resort to the same tactics. All he has to do is ask the same question Ronald Reagan asked in 1980: Are you better off now than you were 4 years ago?

Much of this polarization and vitriolic mud-slinging will slowly end as practical people with actual common sense, born after 1970 or so, get into the highest levels of government.

As stated elsewhere, the Boomer crowd is a disgrace to this country. Their legacy as the USA's biggest disaster is already written in stone.

I am voting for anyone but Obama at this point, but honestly can't wait to see any of these republican candidates debate Joe Biden. The vice debate typically doesn't matter, but it will be good for entertainment value.

It will be dirty...OMG the national news will attack the Republican endlessly...but also watchout for voter fraud like you have never seen it..well unless you are from IL. The dead will vote in record numbers and post election it will be contested in every court in the nation.

The youngest Baby Boomer is 47. I see absolutely no next gen'rs 46 or younger stepping up who have the guts or brains to run the world. If they exist, let them step up but don't hold your breath - whining, laziness and self-delusion are their dominate character traits!

Personally, I feel were all fracked at this point. Too many loyal party liners voting for the same old same old. I know, I used to be one. I'm voting for an overthrow. For the first time, I'm voting for someone neither party likes.

Haha! Maybe. I don't even have one in mind right now, I'm just too frustrated with the way things have been. Some sort of anti-establishment, small government, anti-corporate welfare, capitalist leaning, fiscally responsible, socially liberal, pro-constitution (pro-gun), border protecting fella'. Who am I kidding? That's not even realistic.

I'm late to the conversation but I'll throw my two cents in anyway.

I'm a lifelong registered Democrat who held my nose and voted for McCain in 2008.

After 4 years of hearing that I'm a racist for questioning Obama's experience and credentials, I'm no longer offended by it. Well, it still stings but I'm over it.

I wonder if the "racist" jibe will carry less weight in 2012 than it did in 2007-2008 after having it hurled at the majority of the population for the last four years?

I've remained a registered Dem partially out of laziness and partially to see what they're up to, then I just vote against them as I did in 2008 and 2010 and will likely do again in 2012 if they can't pull their heads out of their asses.
