H.P. Lovecraft

I bought a Kindle a few weeks ago and I have been reading a lot of free/cheap books. H.P. Lovecraft's stories have always creeped me out, but now that I can read them en masse I can say that he had one good idea and everything that followed was a hack. I actually started to chuckle about Cthulu.

BTW, Mark Twain's stuff is pretty good and it doesn't cost a cent. The Innocents Abroad, which I've never read until this week, almost reads like a modern-day travelogue. Obnoxious, naive Americans and smelly Frenchmen who don't know what soap is, circa 1869. Some things don't change.

which kindle did you get and can you give a short review on it? I was thinking about buying one for all the free books like you did.

A plain old WiFi version for $130. I gotta watch my bucks like everyone else these days but I don't regret buying this at all. It's fairly rugged, too. I dropped it on the driveway from about 4 feet on Saturday like a dumbass and it still works fine.

eReaderIQ.com will send you an email every time a free book is posted on amazon. I buy a LOT of ebooks, and this has brought down the cost per book considerably. Also leads me to a lot of authors I would never consider but enjoy.

Dude with that kind of attitude, Cthulhu will eat you last.
