Matthew Simmons dies, conspiracy nuts go insane

Wow.
While Simmons' views on peak oil were regarded as somewhat controversial, he drew even more attention for a June 9 interview with Fortune magazine, in which he predicted BP Plc would be driven bankrupt in "about a month" as the cleanup costs for the Gulf of Mexico oil spill mounted.
I haven't even looked at the Oil Drum or Zero Hedge, but I bet the many cranks at those places are foaming at the mouth right now.

I don't like to speak ill of the dead, but the fact is Simmons was increasingly... unbalanced the past few months. I hope that his family can find peace, and I hope the crackpots don't go even more insane with their nutty conspiracy beliefs.

147-year-old convicted felon and ex-senator Ted Stevens also died yesterday.

Good riddance to him and paranoid Boomer Simmons...

Robert Cote's disfigured corpse climbed out of its grave today and started blogging again, BTW.

He had strong opinions like a lot of folks. I never found him over powering, he never wanted to have us submit to his thinking by the brute force of the IRS or the DOJ or the EPA that I am aware of...anyway RIP.
