Bad stuff ahead

The Arizona immigration law was shot down. I don't think our elected officials fully grasp how polarized Americans are about this. The anger is genuine, and judging from what I read on blogs like Calculated Risk, the anger about 30 million illegals is felt on both sides of the political spectrum.

We have a really big problem on our hands, and the people we elected into office aren't doing anything about it. What we get is either "send 'em back and build a Berlin Wall" or "comprehensive immigration reform," whatever the hell that means.

I doubt they will do anything about it until something really bad happens.

Here's a link to some really bad things that have happened.

You're still right though. Nothing will happen until a US citizen who's victimized takes the law into his own hands. Then we'll be berated by liberals and the media about how awful America is and why we need "Comprehensive Immigration Reform"

Judging by what I hear the politicos saying comprehensive immigration reform is code for give everyone who wants a visa a work visa to come here and "work" without consideration to skill, ability to support oneself or anything else. "Because thats what all the illegal immigrants want is to come here to work" Sure they dont want to come to drop anchor babies and file for social services that never happens. Of course what that really means is that they will come in under the work visa, and then stay after it expires. You know in other countries when you get a entry visa and you fail to leave by the time your visa expires the authorities actually come look for you because your breaking their laws by being in their country without a valid visa. Strangely no on accuses them of racism because they want to enforce their laws.

In this day and age, when I hear someone being accused of racism, I tend to think the accused is likely doing something right.

I figure the "bad thing" will be something along the line of what JFP suggests, followed by a denunciation by the Mexican ambassador or something, followed by a similar fate falling on the ambassador, followed by...

Mexico is not a viable country as it is. Either we will have to encourage/impose a regime change, or take it over.
