Run, Rible, Run!

New Jersey Republican politician David P. Rible began collecting a fat $54k annual pension at age 31. He's running marathons now, but still collects his disability pension plus his salary as a legislator. Nice, tidy six-figure taxpayer-funded annual paycheck.

I am glad that a high-profile Republican was busted doing this. The vast majority of these government union double-dipping early retiree people vote (D), and if it wasn’t for this guy being an (R) a lot of people would ignore the issue.

There's a plan afoot to loot us federal taxpayers out of somewhere between $50-$100 billion this year alone to keep the graft flowing. How about if we don't.

Wish he would go to jail along with all the others...but I suspect that it is all totally legal...so I guess that makes him smarter than the rest of us and suitable for a leadership role.

Well, he is actually running 5 mile and 5k runs, but the point is still valid. FAR from disabled.

More to the point, I sometimes feel like I am the idiot for going to work and slaving 65+ hours a week, but I am not sure I could live with myself if I lived off the dole.

So what?

97 percent of Long Island Central Railway hacks retire on disability.

Coming to a government agency, or quasi agency, or authority, or GM/Chrysler near you. Or not, the Fed's will pay and collect. There is no escape.

Looks like in the statement two other top flite anti=beer-and-fireworks-in-a-gravel-pit LEO's slid down...er...'fell' from the 15 foot...er ..."50 foot" gavel mound...er...'embankment'

It must of been a massacre I tells ya! Three cops down! Three cops down! Crushed donuts, five or six ambulances, another six cruisers with 10 officers, maybe a chopper over head, then the blaring high speed race to the ER.

I hope the fiendish law breakers, fireworks fire(ers), beer drinker hellions of the gravel pit were prosecuted to the full extent of the law!

Let's take a moment to honor our fallen heroes.

Dective Walter Pomphrey
Detective William Connellan
Patrolman David P. Rible.

Hope he's saving as much as he can, given it'll end once the township files for bankruptcy protection.

I thought it was all those pesky mexicans that come here illegally and actually work that are bankrupting us.

The FBI's much-vaunted mortgage fraud sweep has once again failed to catch the Internet's most wanted mortgage criminal.

Good job, FBI.

Dan, the thing I don't get is why they can't put these disabled officers/firefighters in desk jobs, instead of hiring more civilians for these positions. There are plenty of police department jobs that Mr. Ribble can perform from a comfy chair. Dispatcher, form-filler-outer...

Meanwhile towns are being sued for not making town workplaces accessible to the wheelchair paraplegic workers, hearing/sight impaired.
