I have this stock market bug on my desktop at the office. I remember looking at it this afternoon and I swear that I saw the Dow had dropped close to 10%. Like you I went to the financial websites and literally every one was toast. Finally MSN opened up a bit. What's that phrase? Whistling past the graveyard? I feel like we did that today. Now they're telling us a trader used a "b" instead of an "m" while trading P&G. OK, but what about companies like Accenture dropping to 0.01? Something happened today, and I don't think it can be chalked up to a fat-fingered trader.
Speaking of traders... Barry Ritholtz. Is that amazing timing or what? I am not implying anything. He just made a good call.
Don't have anything to say about the death of the Euro. Maybe some schadenfreude and Fahrvergnügen, but not too much. Their misery will wash back on us.
