I have this stock market bug on my desktop at the office. I remember looking at it this afternoon and I swear that I saw the Dow had dropped close to 10%. Like you I went to the financial websites and literally every one was toast. Finally MSN opened up a bit. What's that phrase? Whistling past the graveyard? I feel like we did that today. Now they're telling us a trader used a "b" instead of an "m" while trading P&G. OK, but what about companies like Accenture dropping to 0.01? Something happened today, and I don't think it can be chalked up to a fat-fingered trader.Speaking of traders... Barry Ritholtz. Is that amazing timing or what? I am not implying anything. He just made a good call.
Don't have anything to say about the death of the Euro. Maybe some schadenfreude and Fahrvergnügen, but not too much. Their misery will wash back on us.

Seriously, Google "to davliar". The slide could have been MUCH worse.
True story, I accidentally bought 200 calls of Lotus instead of shorting them. Seriously, a single letter difference. Then, they halted trading and the client went ballistic. Once we found out that they were getting bought out by IBM the client was happy to get out of the trade and I made $600k for my company.
That was a good day.
It'll be pretty fun the first time this shows up on your comments page.
