Save Are Teachers!

Des Moines teachers protest budget cutbacks! Please save are teachers (10 seconds in) so that they can create grammatically correct protest signs. Also, enjoy some astroturfing.

I apologize for picking on teachers lately. We have lots of former and current teachers in my family. Teaching is hard work.

With that said, I deeply resent the unions.

Fishing is hard work. Coal mining too. Being a Doctor is too. So's being a infantry NCO on your forth Iraq/Afghanistan tour. Being away from your family, eating lousy food, and sleeping in your truck for ten days as a truck is hard.

Funny how union jobs are 'hard'. Now, they are sort of experiencing the economic hardness the rest of us live for decades, every year.

No, zero, zip sympathy.

Dang. Looking at the photo I hoped that SAV was an organization and that they "are teachers". But then I watched the video. Maybe that one was a gym teacher?

Exploiting students...what kind of extra credit do you think they get for showing up? Wish we had a Regan to fire the whole bunch of them.

SNL had a great bit on the Public Employee of the Year Awards:

It received a pretty tepid audience response. But it was satisfying to see that pushback against the public sector is finally cracking into the pop-culture zeitgeist.
