It is just an iPod touch,
But more expensive.

A big sheet of fragile glass.

Yesterday I went in to an Apple to store to see what all the iPad hype was about. I actually really liked the look and feel but it is very limited. No USB? No multitasking??? My $10 prepaid cell phone multitasks for god's sake. I can see how the iPad would be ideal for surfing the web or reading. The 3G service will be reasonably priced with no contract. If price drops a bit I'd consider buying one.
Sorry to disappoint you Anonymous... but while
Sales estimates varied widely. Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster more than doubled his initial first-day sales estimate to between 600,000 and 700,000 units, including preorders, based on longer-than-expected lines at stores and high expectations for online preorders. He had also lifted his 2010 forecast to 5.5 million units from 2.8 million.
The reality was less than half that: 300,000, no the 600,000 that would make Jobs laugh.
iPad
Will it blend?

IM happy with my iPhone, it is going to be my toy until they develop a mobile that can take me and bring me to the moon in the same day.
I get a Sony mp3 player for a birthday, it has 8gb of memory, and it got nothing compared with the ipods.
Really useful information, thanks so much for the article.
