- People who say "Arizona residents are racists" and there is no problem with illegal aliens are for the most part wealthy liberal white assholes who haven't seen their neighborhoods transformed. I'd like some forced integration in their neighborhoods and schools. Sort of an experiment to see if they will maintain their opinion.
- Let's cut to the chase: It's about Mexicans.
- A bunch of crooks on both sides of the political aisle are making a lot of money off of this issue.
- I am not into hating Mexicans. I like Mexicans. My chicken-raising Mexican neighbors in the old 'hood are good people and I miss them. I maintain that in 100 years we'll view Mexican immigrants as we view Italian-Americans today. Mexicans are Christians, like to drink, work hard and have the same vices as native-born Americans. And their food is pretty good to boot.
- I totally understand why so many people here in the US feel overwhelmed by Mexicans. If I lived in Georgia or Iowa or Illinois I'd be freaked out too. Fortunately for me, Texas has always had a strong Tejano culture so for most of us it's no big deal.
- The immigration laws are broken and we need to be doing more to encourage skilled/educated/monied immigrants instead of throwing up bureaucratic roadblocks.
- A lot of these people are going back home anyway because the construction jobs have dried up.

The real "problem immigrants" come from shit-holes like Tashkent, Uzbekistan. ;-p
People from that should be sent back on the boat.
Only one nit, most Mexicans are Catholic.
Thinking about it, I guess Catholics are Christians in the end sense.
What is so hard to understand...just pull out webster's and look up the words "legal" and "illegal"...kinda like "lawful" and "unlawful"...not hard to understand really. See if you obey the law you are "lawful" but if you break the law you are "unlawful". Now all the libs have to do is apply this simple logic to life.
I've said for some time that there is a solution to this other than that discussed. The US and Mexico have been a slow motion merger for over 150 years. Let's just formalize it with them. The US will annex one Mexican state each 10 years until some point where that country, as a 'whole' is no longer viable, at which point we'll gobble up the rest. I mean, seriously, is anyone arguing the world is a better place for the existence of Mexico?
Mexico should be better than it is. Mexico has tremendous natural resources, industrious people, and the biggest market in the world right next door.
I hear that the solution to the violence is we should legalize pot. I think a reasonable case can be made for legalization, but it doesn't solve the problem. The cartels are moving far more dangerous products besides pot. Few of us would agree that stuff like meth should be legal in the US, but that's precisely what the cartels are pushing.
Thanks for the great post. I'll be more than happy to answer any questions or feedback your readers might have
