Amazing pictures. That building has so much character it evokes emotion.
I was shocked by the trophy room.
Looks better than most of the city.
Such a beautiful interior. And there are so many others in Detroit like it decaying away. It's a shame that you can't relocate them somewhere else where they could be used and appreciated. The rest of the site is interesting as well. I found this one particularly indicative of the state of affairs:http://www.forgottenmichigan.com/gallery2/v/abandonments/finearts/a01_JPG.jpg.html
Thanks for the memories.Soules' palace
Hi,I ran across your article an I was floored.I graduated from East Catholic High School in 1974- I came back to teach(20 years)all 3 of my kids graduated from East Catholic. I was there when they closed all of the schools. The pictures made me cry. That school was a pillar in the city and now it sits just one more eyesore. So many memories...and they just closed it up and didn't even take stuff out..criminal.

When you say they walked away that is literally what they did. I don't know if there is any hope for the building, I walked through the building today and my heart was saddened.Only because it was in the city it was left like that.
great high school too bad its gone should go through the school and take some artifacts and give to some people who care
i love this school i would love to take a walk through with some former students to bad its too dangerous of a city to do that if i do i will be armed
