One thing annoyed me about old ad copy. The short sentences. And short paragraphs.
Writing was choppy. Designed for impact. Done after many studies. By some research firms.
It worked. So they thought.
And shouldn't a sentence that is a question end in a question mark.

When I was in high school English, I'd have been nailed for that comma splice after "economical". We got a full letter grade off the paper for each one of those.
That whole write-up, had I done such a thing myself, would have surely earned me a special remedial after-class session.
