When the SHTF, armadillos provide a great source of protein. The ones that invade my yard every night are so fat and slow I could probably kill them with a shovel. No gun needed.
Assuming we're entering the Greater Depression, I'll have a big BBQ for my readers this time next year. All you can eat armadillo. I hear it tastes like chicken.
I've seen it eaten by gauchos in South America. The gauchos train dogs to catch them and they cook them in their shells in the campfire. The meat really resembels pork in appearance except it is probably three times greasier. I wanted to try it but when I saw one of the gauchos chewing on a drumstick with the little claw sticking out of his mouth it grossed me out.
