Savage rant about San Francisco

I caught a few minutes of Michael Savage ranting about why tourism is way down in San Francisco. They say the tourism industry is suffering because of the economy. Sure. But as I've said in the past, the other problem is the hyper-aggressive bums and the waste they leave behind.

Can you name a US city with more aggressive bums? Thought not. To call them "homeless" is an insult to those who find themselves out on the street but want to rejoin society. These bums follow you around, belittle you, and urinate and defecate right on the streets. Union Square reeks of urine and feces in the morning. The stench on Market Street is unbelievable.

I wrote to Gavin Newsom a few years ago and after 4 months one of his assistants wrote back, only to inform me that these people are drug addicts and alcoholics. Duh.

I don't know how San Franciscans put up with it. One of the most beautiful cities in the world, with (for my way of thinking) absolutely perfect weather, has let itself become a cesspool. With all of the taxes they pay you'd think the streets would be clean at least.

Two memorable San Francisco stories:

The massive footwound guy in Union Square. He was standing there with a bucket for handouts. His left shoe was off, exposing a massive, suppurating foot wound. You could see the tendons and everything. Such a wound would land anyone in the hospital immediately. I think he was counting on money from foreign visitors who thought he couldn't get treatment without money. He must spend an hour every morning applying the latex and makeup.

The psycho stalker guy on Powell. One night in (2005?) I finally got sick of the pleading and quit responding to the bums. This one guy, about 25, in perfect shape and dressed fairly well, took my ignoring him very personally. He followed me for three blocks down Powell to my hotel, walking no more than 10 feet behind me. "Motherf**ker I know you can hear me. Just a dollar."

Also, let me add that I've never been accosted by bums in Chinatown. Everyone there is too busy hustling for work.

Can't argue with this one. I remember a few years ago visiting Santa Monica and thinking what a beautiful place this would be if they would run off all the bums.

I call them bums, because if you can't work enough at $8 an hour jobs to put a simple roof over your head, you are a bum, plain and simple. I did it for many years.

Don't worry, some visiting NY'er will push him into traffic.

Easy... Sacramento.

One of the bums there is currently exhorting random people to buy him his own tropical island. Beat that! :-p

Someday they will get enough of it and demand that it be cleaned up...but they have to hit rock bottom...who knows how low that will be.

My sign would say something to the effect "If I catch you pissing on my door you'll be a dead man." and it would be written on a NRA B-2 Pistol target with the X ring shot out of it.

Think the bastards would take a hint?
