This has gotta be a pretty lean source of bucks. Work one day (or maybe two if you're lucky) a week. In Houston, water balloon weather is April-October. Filling water balloons takes a long time, and the guy who delivered the balloons drives an Expedition. He burned at least a gallon of gas delivering the balloons.
I can see a 14-year-old kid doing this for his first business. But the guy who delivered the balloons was my age.
Costs probably come out close to 5 cents per balloon if you have the right filling equipment and can do it quickly. So assuming it costs you 5$ per delivery in gas and wear and tear, your clearing 8$. You have to do quite a few orders to make a living out of it. But if you combine it with your dog walking/pet waste pickup business, you could come back after the water balloon fight and use your grabber tool to pick the spent balloons from the grass for an additional fee.
Y'all might be surprised how rewarding this business is! We have a HUGE following - Houston - Austin - S.A. - Galveston (churches & schools, etc.) & were profiled twice in the Houston Chronicle!
I (Kim) have a GREAT efficient system, making thousands balloons daily, 5 of our 8 mos. of business, annually :)) & My awesome husb of 11 yrs. is the business end.
I have two great kids who I love more than life itself, despite any whining you might read here. Everything else is peanuts.

Nice. Only in America.
Imagine doing this for a living.
No thanks. Less margin there than in $3.99 rotisserie chickens.

Maybe there was a lawn mower in the back of that Expedition.

entreprenuership: priceless.
Maybe you can send some of the balloons to Casey, so he has something to play with while he's in his straitjacket in the padded cell. :-p
Crazy
Now THAT is lazy squared. Half the fun is filling the dang things, next thing you know they'll be charging you to throw them at people for you.
