China has issued a ‘Buy Chinese’ order as part of its £400bn government stimulus package in a move that could fuel tensions between Beijing and Washington over claims of trade protectionism during the current financial crisis.Guys like Brad Setser trust the numbers released by the Chinese. I know that Setser is smarter than me, but I think that the Chinese system is structured towards tremendous statistical lies.

I do business in China. There is zero civil law and nearly zero (random) criminal law in place. The notion of trusting anything the government says has me chuckling.
I used to listen to the results of the grain harvest under the perpetual "5 year plan" on Radio Moscow via shortwave.
I have the same confidence in whatever numbers the Chi-coms release.
