Happy Birthday P.T.That video must be from around '75 or '76. Keith Moon looks tired, a far cry from just several years prior. Check out this "Rock Band" video to appreciate: link.
Yes, this was 1976 or 1977, one of his final performances, from The Kids Are Alright movie. Despite Keef's problems, I think this was one of their better performances.
This has nothing to do with Pete, but...In about 1996, John Entwistle was touring the US with his band of the time. Before the band's concert here in Houston, he had an engagement at the old Planet Music in Meyerland Plaza. I always liked his bass and brass playing and felt the he was unappreciated compared to Townshend and Daltrey. I went in to get a CD signed. I bought "The Who Sell Out" which on its cover has each of the band members in some sort of fake ad...Townshend for "Odorono" deodorant, Daltrey for Heinz Baked Beans, Moon with some Acne medication. Entwistle was dressed in a leopard skin with a pretty girl in a bikini on his arm and a big smile on his face. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Who_Sell_OutAs I got to the front of the line, I commented to him that he appeared to be having a good time in the cover photo. I will never forget the sound of his thick Cockney accent as he responded, "It was bet-tuh than sittin' in the baked beans!"
