Gerald Celente is getting a lot of press lately. He's predicting doom and gloom and is very popular with the 9/11 truther dirtbags. So how's his guessing ability? For that we have the handy-dandy Wayback Machine. Browsing through old versions of his website:- April 2001: He bragged about guessing the Dot Com crash. In November 2000, not a word about it.
- January 2005: First mention of the real estate bubble. March 2004: The Economist published an article about the global real estate bubble.
- 2003: US to lose Iraq war.
- 2005: Dollar to go down. Great prediction, the Dollar had been declining steadily for the previous three years.
- June 2008: Gerald Celente failed to see that oil was in a bubble and implied that Bush was about to attack Iran over oil. (January 1, 2008: Lou Minatti predicted that oil would end the year at $50. I am still waiting to hear back from Lauren Steffy. Mine's the first comment, Lauren. See the date?)

Minatti is actually accurate. As an avid economist, things like lawns not food has been a trend for the past 5 years and yet Celente just pronounced that this is the future. It is not the future it is the current trend. There is also a movement to get the whitehouse lawn to be a vegetable garden. If Celente was a genius he could have predicted the oil bubble, the oil burst etc.
Gerald Celente doesn't use data he uses magazine articles written by the wall street journal and other studies that he then makes a declaration about and calls it his own. He is a public speaker trying to get paid.
For the next 3 years we will have negative GDP but that information came from Roubini, the nobel prize winner in economics not Celente. Here is what I predict Obama will spend money, the war will finally end and real estate will keep falling until 2011 and then recover.
It's actually easy to predict the future. Just take out the inflation factor by dividing all nominal goods by commodity prices as opposed to CPI. A Consumer Price index doesn't include Food and Fuel. So Gerald is right. The major consumer's purchasing power depends on how much his savings he has. The reason why the economy imploded is simple: the average consumers savings is negative since the beginning of 2008. If the financial domino effects the real consumer, you get a depression. It has already hit with closing or refail operation. So Gerald is right. You appear to be one of the 27,000 public rations guy being hired by Obama or at least in the plan. We are going to get more denials of a depression in history of the internet if we get to hire all 27,000 PR guys posting these junk information.

If you want to know when the economy will hit rock bottom if we divide the real CPI using fuel and food, and based on real housing price cycle. In fact Bill Gates know about this, but seems the Warren Buffet is purposely misleading us...the recovery may hit rock 2013. Sorry about the bad news, but this is a very clear cycle.
Predicting the oil bubble you need to understand one key concept that some forecasters fail to realize: when you are the likes of the Bush, Kissinger, Carlyle Group, Rockefeller (they pick presidents for the last 40 years to be their spokesman) then you know the direction of the oil prices. The reason why subprime did burst was both the negative savings and Bush's inteference in many states to contain the subprime disaster. Now we have Obama with the same adviser as Bush. Obama and Bush are actually puppets for Rockefeller and well groomed for the job. Did anyone really check the background, besides the "mainstream" source? Check out books by Webster Tarpley. So Gerald was in essence correct on that count of Obama's being essentially the same as Bush. I voted for Ron Paul if you are wondering - and I am a democtat, but didn't vote these people, neither did I voted for George Bush in case you are wondering. His past records of Bush is enough to send shivers down anyone spine. Therefore predicting the future is easy, just dig up the background dirt - and you will never get them from mainstream source. It's likely your own source is the best.
Please note, many indicators used by Mainstream economy is misleading for you not to see into the future. For one thing, to get any real prices you need to divide by commodity prices as opposed to Consumer Price Index. These mainstream economist don't tell you they leave out key prices OUT of the CPI, which is food and fuel. And when they try to calculate sometimes they fudge with using 100 base on say 1980 prices, those did not remove any inflation. To use inflation is also misleading, since they look at CPI increase in percentage as an indicator - but wait - CPI doesn't include fuel and food again. Gold is a manipulated item by the very rich, so you can't divide THAT with all the prices today. What you can do is used a bell weather of commodity index. Which is a better form of CPI. To know if a deflationary cycle is the reason for decline, you need M3 money supply, which is an excellent predictor for U.S. stock prices. But wait! They removed the M3 a couple of years before the subprime crash started in 2007. So much of our knowledge is our naivete for indicators that is purposely misrepresented and disinformed, so you won't know what's going one. Think about Dumbing Down of America. Since when is No Child Left Behind succeed when key Bush advisers made millions from testing of students. I guess it's just all about making money and keeping us in the dark. Then all you have is them making all the money.
Celente mentions about deflation. Check your money supply. It has spiked soon it's hyperinflation. When this happens gold and precious commodities skyrockets.
Instead of the name Lou Minatti it should be Dumb Ass. Everybody thinks that this can't happen in America! We are the greatest nation on earth! Well guess what? History repeats itself all the time.
