Redneck Fire Alarm

First reference spotted on September 24, 2008. First arrives in my e-mail inbox as Mom Spam (in my instance, Grandma Spam) with about 10 layers of Forward To's on Tuesday, October 7. 13 days between the time it was posted here to the time it has been forwarded to millions of people by their elderly relatives.

I don't know what to say about this, other than I am sure that somewhere there's a social scientist working on a paper about it. Perhaps the title is something like, "The Elderly and the Internet: The Spread of Social Memes."

1st I've seen it as well. But the thing that popped in my mind is where the heck did someone get a real Jiffy Pop? I've seen the microwave Jiffy Pop but can't remember the last time I saw real Jiffy Pop.

Man does that bring back memories of my dad and me camping and YMCA Indian Guides.

It's funny you should ask. Jiffy Pop is making a resurgence! Walmart and HEB both carry it. I started seeing it on the store shelves a few months ago. My kids love making it! It beats microwave popcorn.

Cool. Thanks Lou. It tastes SO much better than microwave but jeez Louise does it have a lot more fat and salt. Oh wait, I did say that it tasted better already. ha.

Hey, how'd you get in my house to take that picture??

And no makin' fun of our fire alarm -- it looks better than those hideous plain white ones that the fire department keeps givin' us that just don't match our wallpaper, no homey, comfy look to 'em you know.

And besides, I hear them newfangled things are full of radioactivity. Nucular stuff in there.
