Outside, the noise is amazing. I see trees knocked down, neighbor's fences knocked over, a few broken windows, leaves are stripped off the trees. I think the maple tree I mentioned yesterday will be OK. Most of the leaves are gone now.
The rain was tremendous overnight and it's still coming. The bayou in back of my house is still within its banks, but I am not sure for how much longer. Once it gets out of its banks it is still one or two feet up to reach the level of my property, so I am not too worried about that.
Between gusts I opened the garage door briefly and poked my head outside. My house is covered with shredded leaves. It is COATED. BTW, Sparky is intact.

Lou,
I live in League City on the east side of I-45. I'm currently evacuated with relatives in Louisiana. Hear anything on the local news regarding League City and the Clear Lake area?
Thanks!
NOLA Doug
Hi NOLA,
No idea. According to the boob tube, officials still can't go out to look.
The power is on here in West Oaks (SH6 and Westpark). The house is boarded up so I can't see much damage. Lots of shingles.
Thanks, Lou. I know that my power/phone is out (answering machine won't pick up). Oddly enough, it did pick up as late as 2 am. I passed out sometime after that...too much wine.
NOLA, I am nursing a hangover too. :-) I was drinking beer with the neighbors until 11:00 or so.
Amazing that you still have power.
Good Luck Lou.
I grew up by a bayou on the northwest side of town, I remember watching it rise and fall with the hurricanes for years.
It seems to me we had more hurricanes in the Houston area in the 80's than the 90's and 00's.
Stay dry.
Lou, are you hearing anything about the area around Memorial and Gessner? That's where my parents are and we haven't heard anything from them.
