Some random photos

A guy from Coahuila who lives in a neighborhood nearby commutes in to work the same time I do and I see his car at least once a week. He drives a Hyundai Atos, the tiniest little crapbox on 4 wheels I have ever seen, excluding the Yugo. No A/C, and he wheezes the car up to 70 on the freeway.

Getting back to my post of the pending revenue shortfall on the Katy Tollway, here's the Katy at the height of the morning rush today. Normally a sprinkling of rain is enough to cause massive traffic jams. Now? Not even torrential rains cause a backup.

Five open lanes in each direction is the magic number. Adding on two toll lanes in each direction is pointless.

It may seem pointless now, but the day is coming when it will be needed. And it will already be there. Proactive planning instead of reactive to development west of Houston. Meanwhile, enjoy your commute.
